Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Hi There, My name is Shelby, and I have lived in SLO county for most of my life. We moved to Nipomo when I was 12 years old. I have also lived in Santa Cruz, Chico, and Santa Barbara, while in college and shortly thereafter (none of which have parking rates as high as ours). I have since moved back to SLO county and have chosen to plant roots here. I have seen the home that I love grow tremendously over the years. With that, one expects prices on nearly everything to increase. However, the recent changes for parking rates both in the Downtown area of SLO and Pismo Beach are a bit outrageous. I understand that our area is a hub for tourism, yet the price gouging affects the local community as well. I would suggest offering a local discount on parking prices anywhere in SLO county. Perhaps even a yearly pass that locals could purchase for a fair, flat rate at the beginning of each year that would exempt them from the normal parking fare and potential tickets for mistakenly following the rules of parking regulations' past. It seems there could be an easy way to regulate for anyone whose driver license lists a SLO County address. As someone who used to love visiting both of these locations in my home county, it has become a rare day where I decide I can afford to even venture north of Grover Beach - and the parking rates are simply making this even more of a challenge. Hoping these suggestions will be helpful to create a solution for our local constituents. Thank you for your time, Shelby Radecki spool@slolaw.org 805-406-0088 1
