Subject:Downtown SLO Parking & Bike Lanes

Hello,
I am writing to share my thoughts against the high parking prices & excessive bike lane implementation.
I used to find it simple to go downtown, park in a structure & get 1 hour free, while I can shop locally at my favorite
places of which I love to support. Or even park at a meter and not spend over $5 for a short while to shop. It's such a
turn off to even go downtown because parking is not only difficult and expensive and stressful.
The addition of bike lanes which take away our precious parking spots is frustrating as well. The way the traffic lanes are
tightened on Broad, for example, is dangerous. Are there really more bikers than cars at any given moment on that
stretch of road?
The green bike lanes are dangerous and confusing especially on March & Johnson near the Smart & Final shopping
center. Trying to turn into the center on Marsh runs into the bike lane which also runs into the turning lane. It's really
bad.
My hope is enough local community members can speak out and help our downtown local shops with lowering parking
costs. Last holiday season there were parking incentives and I know those days flurrished! Finding more parking & bike
lane issues are a second to the cost of parking issue.
Thank you for your time,
