Dear Council Members, I am the guardian of an 11 year old boy and one of his favorite things to do is go to the library downtown. We go to the library on Saturdays. In the past it would be very difficult to locate any parking in the vicinity of the library on a Saturday morning. We would leave early and try to find an open space on the side of the library or across the street from the court house and cross our fingers we would find an open spot. Since the new price increase there seems to be quite a few spaces open and parking is no longer a problem, even closer to noon. I cannot believe this is good for the businesses downtown since weekends tend to be busier for most lunch spots downtown. With already high rents and now high parking rates driving business away I fear we will see more and more small businesses moving out of the downtown area. Being a person that was born and raised in this once small town, I worry that we will lose even more small businesses that make our town so unique. Thank you for your time. Susan Soto 1
