Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Good afternoon, My husband and I have been living in SLO for a combined 20 years. We are disheartened and disappointed with the city of SLO for the recent parking cost increases. I have seen downtown steadily go downhill since I moved here 8 years ago. In such a short period of time, homelessness has increased (unfortunately, harassment has increased with this), the streets are not as clean, and flies are often swarming. In addition, businesses are closing left and right. It also just smells in general. Those reasons are already enough to decrease the traffic downtown. The increased cost of parking was the straw that broke the camel's back. Give local people incentives to go and support the local businesses. Right now, there are only hurdles. I can't even check out books from the library for 10 minutes without paying for parking. For a free service like the library, there should be free parking available. Please consider reducing the costs of parking or providing options for locals to park free. If not, locals will continue to receive the message: "NO LOCALS ALLOWED; TOURISTS ONLY." Thank you, Hope Yoon 1
