It was a great community. I truly miss what it was! I no longer see local people downtown or run into old friends, sit and have drinks or coffee. For at least the last 10 years or more it has lost almost everything that made it charming and community. But I would still like to go to a movie, have dinner, go to the last places that I love, like Boo-Boos, Giuseppes, Linnea’s, shop any local shops that are left. The big problem is I refuse to pay eight dollars or more to spend an afternoon or evening enjoying dinner out or drinks or a movie in downtown SLO. The cost of everything right now is way too high and to spend that much more to park my car in this town is ridiculous. Yes, I am a local, and I could get free first hour that’s only offered at the Palm parking structure but again that’s ridiculous. I refuse to give you my entire life history to park on the other side of town from where I may need to go and probably not get back with in the hour. I hope that the city will reconsider what they’re asking people to pay for parking, listen to their merchants and the merchants customers and lower the parking cost.
