Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. ________________________________ As an almost 60 year resident and taxpayer in SLO, we have great concern about the downtown and presently the off-putting parking situation. The rapid increase in fees, the difficult technology, and what it is doing to the health and vitality of downtown businesses and even the impact on tourism is very worrisome. We have always taken pride in our unique downtown, its history and locally owned businesses, instead of the standard chains, so common in other areas. We have frequent guests from out of state and in the past, we focused on visiting our downtown. Now, we are not willing to pay the parking costs, although with great effort we were able to surmount the unfriendly technology to sign up for the 1 hour of free parking for locals. In talking with our contemporaries, we realize that most of our acquaintances are no longer willing to put up with the hassle of trying to go downtown either. We have always tried to shop locally, but I find myself, despite my reluctance, ordering on online more and more. I hope you will give this parking issue careful consideration Thank you, Mary E.
