Hello,
I am writing to express to the council that I think they should not vote to approve the purchase of a new parking lot
downtown. We do not need more parking, we need investment in public transportation, establishing more greenways,
and making our streets and sidewalks safer for pedestrians. How much public property are we going to dedicate to cars?
Statistically speaking, 1/4 of our city is already dedicated to parking. To add more surface parking would be regressive
and counterintuitive to SLO City’s goals.
