I simply want the city to perform silt maintenance - ASAP! The current dry lake conditions are the perfect opportunity to do the basic city maintenance at a lower cost. Please make this top priority in the city's spending plan for this year. Let's get busy to accomplish the following: 1 st) Excavate the silt ASAP before it rains. Deposit the excavated dirt in the Foothill end of the lake or in one of the NW coves of the lake. How much of the lake would we loose after 200 years of silt fill? Or, build another morro. Or, there may be a landfill, eroding ocean cliff, etc. that NEEDS the dirt and would take it for free. 2nd) Get approval to set up some silt catching grates up stream and make a plan to provide periodic cleaning. HOLD ON THERE! Why not divert the silt carrying creek to the Foothill end of the lake and let it stay there?!!! Thank you very much for all your work.
