Dear Commissioners,
I am writing to let you know that as a SLO resident and renter, I am super supportive of the proposed 10-unit apartment
building project on 460 Pacific and I urge ya'll not to recommend any changes be made that would delay the
construction or reduce the number of units built. I would love to live in this type of building and think this is the perfect
area to build it as there are already 2-3 story buildings nearby! This is exactly the kind of thing SLO needs more of to help
increase the housing supply and to build denser and much needed rental housing during this housing crisis. I think the
proposed building looks great, no changes necessary, and that the neighborhood would better benefit from this building
going up sooner rather than later. I barely think about what the outside of my building looks like, but I do think about
how half of my income is taken up each month because of how expensive housing is here in SLO. Processes like this
make everything slower, more expensive, and take more time to build the housing we desperately need. While I know
there is a reason for this process and trust your expertise to use your skills and reason to make these decisions, I wonder
how necessary it is for a smaller project like this.
In conclusion, I am asking the ARC to not suggest any changes that will impact the number of units, size, density, and
quality of the units. Building is expensive as is and we are in a housing crisis, so let's get things going and get smaller
projects like this off the ground.
Thank you,
Delaney Ginn
