The water now is about 3 inches deep with muck below that. I could not even use a kayak there a month ago whereas I used to sail in a much larger vessel. I have one earnest suggestion. The lake needs to be dredged; I hope there will be enough imagination to simply dump the dredgings in a pile in the middle and create an island. This would make f or a much more aesthetic situation, create unique habitat and eliminate any removal costs. I have seen older reports that the costs would be high since it was felt the debris needs to be dumped on dry land and allowed to dry for some time, then moved back into the lake. Off the cuff that seems unnecessary, why not just dump in the lake and it will dry to the event allowable by elevation, just like dumping dry soil there which will get soaked to water level and dry above? I hope you will consider this simpler way to of f ect the goal of island building. If you do a google search you will see hundreds of square miles (or more) of dry land has been created around the world in what was vast ocean, we can do it herev'at,th.is small scale. Pete Evans 2
