I suggest sending me a first draft, then I’ll have you submit to Matt LaFreniere so he can take this in for formal review and approval by Hal’s team.

Here are details on locations for the speed tables. Feel free to reach out with any o her questions.
include that with dimensions ans well as dimensions on the two on Righetti Ranch Road, we can have our engineers start to revise these plans for your
review and approval. Travis

Travis,
Attached, please find staff recommendations for traffic calming strategies to address the high speeds identified in the Righetti Ranch traffic
monitoring study (also attached). I’ve tried to avoid unreasonable recommendations that would require significant costs, such as
permanent corner bulbouts, raised intersection construction/reconstruction, etc., focusing on features that have proven effectiveness with a
high cost/benefit. Here’s a summary of what we’re recommending:
1. Righetti Ranch Road south of Twin Creeks
1. Install a left yellow edge stripe adjacent to the medians in both northbound and sou hbound directions, which visually narrows
the traffic lane widths, which can help with reducing vehicle speeds.
2. Righetti Ranch Road between Tiburon and Hayfield
1. Install 2 speed tables per City Standard Plans (included in attachment)
3. Tiburon between Righet i Ranch Road and Orcutt Road
1. Where on-street bike lanes exists, add a striped bike buffer to visually narrow the auto lane widths, which can help with
reducing vehicle speeds
2. Install one speed table just west of Imel. Use City Standard speed table modified to keep the edges of the table out of the on-
street bike lane, which can create a trip/fall hazard. Westcreek just constructed 2 such tables on Ranch House Road and I’ve
included the details showing this modified table design in the attached.
Please let me know when you’ve had a chance to review and digest so we can discuss next steps. With Westcreek’s recent traffic calming
on Ranch House Road, hey had the same engineer that prepared their original PIPs add these traffic calming elements and submitted as
plan revisions under the original FMAP case. They installed their speed tables a few weeks after plan approval and we subsequently
released their bond for traffic calming mi igation. I imagine we could do something similar here.
Thanks,

Thanks Joe, looks good.
Travis – We can consider the study final. My staff and I are going to do some more field review and coordinate with our Transit and Fire
staff to scope out some suggestions for potential speed reduction strategies. I’ll follow up early in the new year.

Travis,
I’ve reviewed the memo and have a few minor comments (see attached).
It looks like we do have speeding issues on both Righetti Ranch Road and Tiburon. I’d like to spend a little more time reviewing potential
traffic calming mitigation strategies in coordination with our Transit and Fire staff, but even if the ultimate recommendation was to install
speed tables on each of these segments w/ conservative spacing (300-600 feet between each table), the total cost should be well wi hin
the $200K bond. I would be supportive of clearing the $25K bond, but continuing to hold the $200K bond until these solutions are in place.
Thanks,

Thanks Luke. Any chance you can review the study today or tomorrow. I would like your ok to release the small $25k
bond as we discussed. This will leave you the duplicate bond for $200K. Let me know so Hal and Matt can issue the release once you are comfortable.
