From some of the testimony at your meeting, I'm fearful that some of my Laguna Lake neighbors may be thinking that the work called for in the plan will done whether or not an assessment district is formed. My view is that the district is part and parcel of the plan. No one likes to pay more taxes. But Laguna Lake is a special amenity for us who live in the vicinity of the lake. If we want to continue to enjoy that amenity, we need to be good partners with the City and pay our share of the costs.
