A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
ADOPTING A BICYCLE FACILITIES PLAN.
*MtFAS, on Mardi 2. 1982 the City Council adopted a'revi.sed General Plan
Circulation Element in carpLiance with Section 65302 (b) of the California
Goverrmmnt Code; and
MzREAS, the adopted Circulation Element calls for the preparation of a
Bike Route Improvement Plan and plan for bicycle storage as a "first priority
action and
W[UREAS, the Community Development Department and Public Works Department
staff have worked together to publish a draft Bicycle Facilities Plan in June
1984; and
WEIERF,AS, it is the overall intent of the city to take actions that provide
for efficient transportation within San Luis Obispo and encourage the per
capita reduction of automobile use and the use of alternative forms of
transportation including bicycles.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo
as follows:
1. The Bicycle Facilities Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit A. is hereby
adopted.

2. Changes have been incorporated into the Bicycle Facilities Plan which
mitigate or avid significant env�rormiental effects and the plan is
granted a negative declaration.
3. The Camunity Develcp=nt Department shall publish and make available to
the public said facilities plan and shall distribute ccpies to
apprcpriate members of the City Goverrmant and other apprcpriate
agencies.
On motion of Councilwoman Dovey Seconded by
Councilman Councilman Griffin - and on the following roll call
vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Dovey, Griffin, Settle and Mayor Billig
NOES: Councilman Dunin
ABSENT: None
The foregoing resolution was passed and adcpted this -'7th day of May 1985.
