I’ll send those details over your way to help guide your designer.     Also, you will need to submit the revised plan sheets showing these new features for City approval before moving to construct these measures. I’d suggest sending a draft copy of the plans my way for concurrence, after which I’ll connect you with our permit tech to get these taken in for formal review/approval.    Thanks,    Luke Schwartz, PE Transportation Manager <image001.jpg> Public Works Transportation Planning/Engineering 919 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401-3218 E LSchwartz@slocity.org T 805.781.7190 slocity.org     From: Travis Fuentez    Sent: Wednesday, February 15, 2023 12:00 PM  To: Schwartz, Luke <LSchwart@slocity.org>  Cc:   Subject: RE: Righetti Traffic Study status     Luke, I have a proposal to complete this work from Toste Construction.  I believe you said they did the  earlier bumps on Ranch House.  I would like to get these installed in short order.  Please confirm if you  have marked the locations for RRM to update the plans so I can schedule the work.  Thanks, Travis     From: Schwartz, Luke <LSchwart@slocity.org>   Sent: Friday, February 10, 2023 9:37 AM  To: Travis Fuentez   Cc:  Subject: RE: Righetti Traffic Study status     We could have staff mark them in the field and provide dimensions to the nearest intersection for additional reference.    Luke Schwartz, PE Transportation Manager <image006.jpg> Public Works Transportation Planning/Engineering 10 To: Schwartz, Luke <LSchwart@slocity.org>  Cc: r   Subject: RE: Righetti Traffic Study status     Thanks Luke.  I think I understand what you are looking for.  I don’t see the exact location you are  wanting the speed table along Tiburon.  If you could include that with dimensions ans well as  dimensions on the two on Righetti Ranch Road, we can have our engineers start to revise these plans for  your review and approval.  Travis     From: Schwartz, Luke <LSchwart@slocity.org>   Sent: Thursday, February 9, 2023 4:06 PM  To: Travis Fuentez   Subject: RE: Righetti Traffic Study status     Travis,    Attached, please find staff recommendations for traffic calming strategies to address the high speeds identified in the Righetti Ranch traffic monitoring study (also attached). I’ve tried to avoid unreasonable recommendations that would require significant costs, such as permanent corner bulbouts, raised intersection construction/reconstruction, etc., focusing on features that have proven effectiveness with a high cost/benefit. Here’s a summary of what we’re recommending:    1. Righetti Ranch Road south of Twin Creeks  1. Install a left yellow edge stripe adjacent to the medians in both northbound and southbound directions, which visually narrows the traffic lane widths, which can help with reducing vehicle speeds.  2. Righetti Ranch Road between Tiburon and Hayfield  1. Install 2 speed tables per City Standard Plans (included in attachment)  3. Tiburon between Righetti Ranch Road and Orcutt Road  1. Where on-street bike lanes exists, add a striped bike buffer to visually narrow the auto lane widths, which can help with reducing vehicle speeds  2. Install one speed table just west of Imel. Use City Standard speed table modified to keep the edges of the table out of the on-street bike lane, which can create a trip/fall hazard. Westcreek just constructed 2 such tables on Ranch House Road and I’ve included the details showing this modified table design in the attached.    Please let me know when you’ve had a chance to review and digest so we can discuss next steps. With Westcreek’s recent traffic calming on Ranch House Road, they had the same engineer that prepared their original PIPs add these traffic calming elements and submitted as plan revisions under the original FMAP case. They installed their speed tables a few weeks after plan approval and we subsequently released their bond for traffic calming mitigation. I imagine we could do something similar here.    Thanks,    Luke Schwartz, PE Transportation Manager <image006.jpg> Public Works Transportation Planning/Engineering 919 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401-3218 E LSchwartz@slocity.org 12    From: Schwartz, Luke <LSchwart@slocity.org>   Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2022 9:16 AM  To: Travis Fuentez <  Cc: Hannula, Hal <hhannula@slocity.org>  Subject: RE: Righetti Traffic Study status     Travis,    I’ve reviewed the memo and have a few minor comments (see attached).    It looks like we do have speeding issues on both Righetti Ranch Road and Tiburon. I’d like to spend a little more time reviewing potential traffic calming mitigation strategies in coordination with our Transit and Fire staff, but even if the ultimate recommendation was to install speed tables on each of these segments w/ conservative spacing (300-600 feet between each table), the total cost should be well within the $200K bond. I would be supportive of clearing the $25K bond, but continuing to hold the $200K bond until these solutions are in place.    Thanks,    Luke Schwartz, PE Transportation Manager <image008.jpg> Public Works Transportation Planning/Engineering 919 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401-3218 E LSchwartz@slocity.org T 805.781.7190 slocity.org     From: Travis Fuentez    Sent: Monday, December 12, 2022 1:23 PM  To: Schwartz, Luke <LSchwart@slocity.org>  Cc: Hannula, Hal <hhannula@slocity.org>  Subject: RE: Righetti Traffic Study status     Thanks Luke.  Any chance you can review the study today or tomorrow.    I would like your ok to release the small $25k bond as we discussed.  This will leave you the  duplicate bond for $200K.  Let me know so Hal and Matt can issue the release once you are  comfortable.  Travis     From: Schwartz, Luke <LSchwart@slocity.org>   Sent: Thursday, December 8, 2022 3:37 PM  To: Travis Fuentez   Cc: Hannula, Hal <hhannula@slocity.org>  Subject: RE: Righetti Traffic Study status     Thanks Travis.
