Our streetlight technicians have been working diligently with PG&E to resolve the problem with the underground electrical service to those streetlights. Until that is resolved, we are working on procuring some temporary solar lights as an interim solution. There are no further plans at this time to install additional traffic calming along Righetti Ranch Road, as the following measures have been implemented over the past year or so since our initial conversations: - All-way stop installed at Righetti Ranch Road/Twin Creek Road - All-way stop installed at Righetti Ranch Road/Hayfield - Speed tables installed on Righetti Ranch Road between Tiburon and Hayfield loop. - High-visibility crosswalk markings installed at Righetti Ranch/Twin Creeks - Tree & vegetation trimming to improve sight lines at Righetti/Twin Creek, Righetti/Pio, Righetti/Tank Farm intersections - Pedestrian warning signage installed at Righetti/Pio - Left edge stipes installed in Righetti Ranch Rd between Twin Creek and Orcutt to narrow travel lane widths I will notify SLO PD traffic enforcement to include this location on their enforcement rotation to continue to address your speeding concerns. It could be contributing to the amount of accidents happening in the dark at the roundabout. Additionally, I’m concerned that if a pedestrian is on the sidewalk when one of these accidents occur at the roundabout it could result in a severe injury or death. Has anyone studied if flashing lights or some other solution could help avoid these reckless accidents? Lastly, several speed bumps were installed at one end of Righetti Ranch Rd. Could you please have speed bumps installed the rest of the way down Righetti Ranch Rd.? Cars are still traveling way above the posted speed limit. I know myself and several residents of Righetti Ranch have communicated with you and other people at the city in regards to the amount of pedestrians and children in the neighborhood that would benefit from the speed bumps being installed the rest of the way down Righetti Ranch Rd. Thank you! This should slow speeds quite a bit through the neighborhood, but please keep in touch if you are seeing any ongoing concerns. We’re just waiting for the developer (Ambient Communities) to construct these improvements. I don’t have a firm ETA from them, but will check in. I believe they are still participating in the Righetti Ranch HOA, so you also might be able to request a schedule from them at the next HOA meeting. Can you provide an update on the traffic calming measures planned for Righetti Ranch Rd? It has been 6 months since your last and nothing has been done while we continue to witness dangerously high traffic speeds on this stretch of Righetti Ranch Rd. The developer of the Righetti Ranch neighborhood (Ambient Communities) has completed their required traffic studies, which did indicate that prevailing traffic speeds remained high along that stretch of Righetti Ranch Road. Thus, they are required to install traffic calming to mitigate those issues. We are working with them on designs, which will likely include a series of speed tables along that straight segment of this street between Tiburon and Hayfield. We’ll continue working with Ambient to get those measures installed as soon as feasible. If you have any other questions in the interim, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Hello Luke- I hope you are managing to stay dry. Let me start by thanking you for your service to our community. I can only imagine the complexity associated with your job. This said, I must raise a concern about the serious risk/tragedy waiting to happen on Righetti Ranch Road. We purchased our home at 3950 Righetti Ranch Road in July 2021 and have had a front row seat to observe the wreckless driving that takes place along the straightaway between Hayfield Road and Tiburon. This morning I witnessed a sedan speed past our house going at least 65 mph which I am sorry to say is not unusual. I understand that Wiliams home may be responsible for conducting a traffic study on this stretch of Righetti? Is there anything the city can do to help prevent another accident from happening (I witnessed a landscape worker in a tractor get smacked by a speeding Tesla a few weeks ago or a tragedy from happening with all of the children running around? Thank you for your time in advance. Jeremy Cook 805-550-=7765
