I'm working on a preview story about the consent agenda item appearing next week in front of the SLO City Council—specifically, Shoe Palace and Jamestown requesting rent reduction. I have a few questions about that. 1. Has the city council discussed this specific rent reduction before at a public meeting? 2. Did Jamestown submit any documents to the city in April 2023 that detailed Shoe Palace not being interested in renewing its lease? If so, could I please access them? 3. What is the Parking Fund that the 837 Marsh Street property produces revenue for? 4. I just wanted to make sure I'm understanding this correctly: Jamestown is a real estate company that acquired the retail space. It rents the space to Shoe Palace who pays Jamestown roughly $15,000 in monthly rent. Jamestown, in turn, pays that $15k sum to the city every month? I have left you both voicemails and am happy to chat over the phone too if that's easier. My deadline for this story is tomorrow at noon, and I'd be grateful for your responses any time before then. I appreciate any time you can dedicate to my request.
