Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Council… I live in the Stoneridge development. Trying to make a left turn from Stoneridge onto Broad is dangerous and challenging. I am often forced to make a right turn, then a U turn at some other point down the road to end up heading toward downtown. Please fund an update of the South Broad Street Area Plan. The plan was adopted by the Council in December 2014, but the changes to Broad Street itself have not been implemented yet. There will be an Agenda item on the Mid-Year Budget update at the upcoming Council meeting on February 6, 2024. It has come to our attention that there will be some unallocated funds available. We are asking for some of those funds to be allocated to update the 2014 plans and implement the changes to Broad Street itself. Over the last decade, we have added 355 housing units on Victoria, developed Orcutt Road, and allowed more development by the airport. However, we have neglected Broad Street itself, except for the addition of a pedestrian light at Woodbridge (after a pedestrian's death). Thank you for your attention to this matter.
