Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. I have lived in my little house on Lawrence Drive for 25 years. During those years, I've attended any number of neighborhood meetings as well as City-sponsored meetings about Broad Street. I understand that the plan for traffic calming is back up for your consideration. So, I'd like to add my voice to the mix. Several times every week, as I'm driving north on Broad, preparing to turn left onto Lawrence, I'm forced to evade a driver entering Broad from Stoneridge. That driver cannot merge fast enough, so they either sit in the turn lane or drive in the turn lane until they're able to merge. You can imagine the confusion this causes. Several years ago, we were promised 2 or 3 traffic signals along Broad. I disagreed with the location of the signals but was glad to hear of their installation. To date, there're NO signals. We were promised a new type of asphalt which would sound quieter. We were promised planters with trees along the center of Broad. No asphalt and no trees. I used to enjoy walking across Broad to go vote at the Guild Hall. That's not possible any longer. Drivers treat Broad Street like a freeway. Increased development, both residential and commercial, along the south side of SLO has created a monster. I'm regularly forced to drive down Lawton to Woodbridge, make a left, drive past Meadow Park, and hang a right onto South Street in order to drive to the Senior Center because it certainly isn't possible to make a left from Lawrence onto Broad. I'm not the only "old lady" doing that, either! Please make our neighborhood's safety priority in your budget considerations. Thank You. Cathy Marvier 520 Lawrence Drive 1
