Dear Mayor and City Council,
I live on Poinsettia St and use Broad St virtually daily.
I believe it is dangerous for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
In December of 2014 the South Broad Street Area Plan was adopted. This plan addressed many of the issues
but to date there is still much to be done to make Broad Street safe as well as attractive.
The center turn lane is confusing and often used for unsafe driving.
Speed is a problem with many motorists treating Broad Street like a highway.
Visibility is limited in many parts of the corridor .
Efforts need to be made to address speed and turn safety as well as pedestrian safety.
Additional traffic lights or traffic circles would be beneficial.
