As the DEI Program Manager for the County of San Luis Obispo Behavioral Health Department, I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for the City of San Luis Obispo's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Strategic Plan. The comprehensive approach outlined in the plan, including its ambitious pillars, is not only commendable but essential for the ongoing growth and inclusivity of our community. The efforts made and the processes currently underway are a testament to the city's commitment to fostering an environment where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. This strategic plan, with its focus on diverse community engagement, equitable communication, embedded accountability, and an inclusive organizational culture, sets a powerful example not just for the City of San Luis Obispo but for the entire County of San Luis Obispo. Shooting for the stars, as the plan proposes, is precisely the mindset we need to meet the ever-evolving needs of our communities. The pillars outlined resonate deeply with the work we do at the Behavioral Health Department, and I am excited about the possibilities this strategic plan opens up for collaboration and mutual support. I look forward to the rollout of this strategic plan and am eager to see the positive changes it will bring to the City of SLO and, by extension, to the county at large. Please know that this plan has my full support, and I am keen to contribute in any way that can further these efforts.
