While I understand the need to keep fellow citizens safe, the impact on the flow of traffic on streets fallen victim
to the new bike lanes (Laurel Ln, Santa Barbara…that’s a huge mess now, downtown, Chorro) to name just a
few not only impacted parking for some businesses (Del Monte cafe) BUT massively impacted the flow of
traffic and narrowed lanes with the construction of concrete barriers. You can see the tire marks on that
concrete as a result of people hitting them… that doesn’t seem very safe. You can see as a result of the
inability of the street sweeper to get on the other side of those concrete barriers, It’s hard to keep the streets
clean in the bike lanes. Unfortunately, as other projects in San Luis Obispo, it doesn’t seem like a lot of thought
was put into it before the project was acted on or feedback gleaned from fellow citizens ie., parking fees
currently.
