This is on Laurel Lane. This is during normal traffic not high volume traffic timelines. This is how many people you can see lined up forever and ever. Today I drove home from Costco, and when I turn onto Santa Barbara, going up towards railroad station, the light turned three different times red green, red green red green before I got through it. That was just between Miner’s and railroad station. It took me as long to get through that light as driving all the way from the Costco parking lot to that destination which is just ridiculous. They’re doing all of this and hoping we’re gonna be carbon free and believe me I’m a tree hugger 1 let them know, so I’m all for it. I’m a believer in climate change, but we are adding huge pollution to our air with some of these back ups in traffic. Big picture I don’t think it was well thought out at all. Too many major arteries were impacted by some of these decisions. Thank you for passing on these two additional things. There’s a lot more but this is a good start. Thank you for letting me vent. Oh, and please note in the picture I provided. Not one bike in the bike lane. That is what I notice frequently we did all of this for cyclist and I don’t see them enough to warrant the impact and cost. You can see the tire marks on that concrete as a result of people hitting them… that doesn’t seem very safe. You can see as a result of the inability of the street sweeper to get on the other side of those concrete barriers, It’s hard to keep the streets clean in the bike lanes. Unfortunately, as other projects in San Luis Obispo, it doesn’t seem like a lot of thought was put into it before the project was acted on or feedback gleaned from fellow citizens ie., parking fees currently.
