Permit Applicant – SLO Responsible and Compliant Retail, LLC.
Dear Lauren Carpenter,
After a thorough review and evaluation process based on the City’s adopted Merit Criteria
outlined in the Commercial Cannabis Business Operator Permit Application Procedures
(application procedures), the City has approved the issuance of a Contingent Operator Permit
to SLO Responsible and Compliant Retail LLC (Embarc SLO).
The issuance of a Final Operator Permit is subject to a successful background screening , of
which each owner, principal, and property owner of record must pass a criminal history
background check conducted by the City’s third-party consultant, HdL Companies’ (HdL). Please
note that being awarded an Operator Permit does not constitute a land use entitlement and
does not waive or remove the requirements of applying for and receiving permits for all
construction. Further, the award of an Operator Permit does not guarantee that the plans
submitted via the application process meet the standards or requirements for building permit
issuance and any other permit requirements from other City departments or agencies.
