Dear Councilmembers,
I support and encourage moving forward with proposed amendments to the Margarita Area Specific Plan and
development plan for the proposed project at 365 Prado. All too often, I experience buyers who are priced out
of local area homes and who would love to be able to own vs rent. This project has the mixed unit type that
City Council and staff should enthusiastically support, especially as a Pro-housing city, with the vast majority of
residential units being attached or courtyard clustered type homes vs single family detached. This project will
help support the housing continuum offering more of the missing-middle housing that is lacking in most of SLO.
Please allow 365 Prado to proceed independently from the Margarita Area Specific Plan update. If this type of
project gets pushed out to a later date, I can only assume the building costs, developer costs and resulting sale
prices will only increase year over year. Thank you for your consideration helping try to address the #1 cost
(housing) that local residents are facing.
