Members of the City Council,
I want to take a brief moment today to write as a representative voice for Strong Towns SLO. We commend and
encourage your consideration for allowing mixed-use development and upzoning, from Business Park to Service
Commercial, the land at 365 Prado Road.
This is exactly the kind of policy dynamism needed to make our city stronger and more sustainable. Such an opening up
of our land use options allows for us to pursue styles of development that are adaptive to community needs, resilient in
a changing world, and pursuant to the lost art of capitalizing "value per acre" that once made great American cities.
Furthermore, the proposed change is wise in that it follows the proper legal avenues of General Plan and Specific Plan
amendments. We, Strong Towns SLO, encourage you to direct City staff to create such amendments, as needed to make
it so, without delay.
Sincerely,
--
