SUBJECT: Use Permit Appl. A 21-98
162 Cross Street
Dear Ms. Markoff:
On Friday, March 20, 1998, 1 conducted a public hearing on your request to allow a
veterinary clinic, including boarding and grooming of small animals, along with a
caretaker's quarters, at the above location.
After reviewing the information presented, I approved your request, based on the
following findings:
Findings
1. The veterinarian hospital will not adversely affect the health, safety or welfare of
persons living or working at the site or in the vicinity because the nature of the
business, its location in a manufacturing/service commercial neighborhood and
the fact that no large quantities of hazardous materials will be used or stored on
site.
2. The veterinarian hospital is appropriate at the proposed location off Tank Farm
Road in the C-S zone because it is compatible with surrounding commercial
service land uses and the site can be easily accessed from Tank Farm Road, an
arterial roadway.
3. The veterinarian hospital can be established and maintained without jeopardy to
persons (from the noise of barking animals) in the vicinity of the site because the
site is located within a light industrial park, the closest residential uses are
located a minimum of 2,000 feet to the east, and the outdoor pet area is located
adjacent Tank Farm Road and away from adjoining properties.
My decision is final unless appealed to the Planning Commission within ten days of the
action. An appeal may be filed by any person aggrieved by the decision.
The City of San Luis Obispo is committed to include the disabled in all of its services, programs and activities.
