On May 24, 2012 I reported to you that one of our elderly veterans tripped and fell over an uneven bric k
outside the front door of our building . Fortunately, he was not injured- he was just shaken up a bit .
Victor was very responsive in checking out the situation and observed the safety issue that we wer e
concerned about .
Man y .of our veterans are elderly and use canes and walkers. We have had many complaints and nea r
misses regarding the uneven bricks . We realize this is no simple undertaking, as it appears the root s
from the large tree out front are causing this damage and will continue to even if there was a short ter m
fix . We are very concerned about the safety of our patients here at the VA Clinic .I am sure ou r
accrediting institution, The Joint Commission would also be concerned with this very evident safet y
issue .
We are hoping you can find a resolution to this problem for all the tenants in this building . Please kee p
us informed of your progress .
