Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Hello PCC friends, I wanted to comment on agenda item # 5.b Our business is in the neighborhood the campaign is calling "LoBro." I was totally unaware that the neighborhood campaign existed or that our neighborhood was anything other than "Off Broad." When I saw that it had been codified by the Chamber due to my business being on a poster (again, not aware of that, either), I figured it wasn't something I could comment on at this point since it had already been done, but Carrie has started the conversation and I wanted to emphasize her points so you understand our concerns are representative of a broad swath of people.  "LoBro" is not used by anyone that I know of in SLO currently, which means this is an opportunity to thoughtfully brand this long term.  LoBro evokes some feelings for me as a woman in a male dominated industry. "That's Low, Bro."  I've tested it out with my friends and employees and not one has enthusiastically embraced it or said "that makes sense." I've had to explain it and am usually met with an eyeroll.  Both it and MoJo feel like the antithesis to the current trajectory of SLO in my lived experience as a resident and business owner in SLO. We're trending toward art and bike friendly improvements, inclusivity, and cutesy things that make someone giggle doesn't fit that intentionality, nor the rest of the neighborhood names you're promoting.  "Lower Broad" - that's all I'm asking for. Thank you, I know the marketing team has worked hard on this, but if we could please consider my points before it's settled for the next 20 years, I'd appreciate it.
