Dear Advisory Board,
I hope this message finds you well. As a resident of LoBro and a software developer for a local company, I
wanted to address recent concerns surrounding our neighborhood slogan, "LoBro," which stands for "Lower
Broad Street."
Some members of our community have expressed worries that the term "LoBro" may unintentionally endorse
"bro culture." I want to assure you that this was never the intention behind the slogan. Instead, it was created
to promote our neighborhood as a vibrant hub for dining, shopping, and community engagement along Lower
Broad Street.
Living and working in LoBro, I have witnessed firsthand the sense of pride and unity that the "LoBro" slogan
has instilled in our community. It serves as a simple yet effective way to convey the spirit and identity of our
neighborhood.
However, I understand the concerns raised, and it's important to address them. I firmly believe that "LoBro"
should be recognized for its inclusivity and welcoming atmosphere rather than being associated with any
particular culture.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
- Michael
