SUBJECT:Downtown Association Board Meeting V D'tlonIEY
Following are highlights of the Downtown Association Board Meeting held on June 13, 2000
Discussion of Mardi Gras impacts and possible solutions. Board members will be
asking their neighbors for input on problems and possible solutions.
The Board approved a proposed "yellow bike" shared bicycle program for the
downtown. This proposal is coming from a Cal Poly group, and is gaining
acceptance through different committees.
a A public art banner was displayed and the possibility of auctioning the art will be
studied.
This year's Taste of SLO is sold out, and a new "twilight Tuesday" program has
begun to take shape.
The Board is looking forward to a study session with our Council to review the
Main Street Program and possible benefits for the entire community.
The Downtown Association Parking Committee chair requested that City transit
buses be rerouted out of the downtown core.
