Re: City Council Mee?ng on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 Agenda Item 4.a.
Dear City Council,
My name is Steve Hilstein, and I'm represen?ng Luna Red business in downtown San Luis Obispo. I am sharing my
support, in line with Downtown SLO’s Board of Directors, for Op?on B of the Parking Rate Study recommenda?ons
presented by Dixon Unlimited. This op?on offers the most affordable parking rates downtown, addressing the primary
concern expressed by respondents in the Parking Rate Study.
Furthermore, as a previous resident and business owner in San Luis Obispo for 40 years, currently living in North County,
I am in support of this posi?on because we used to enjoy going into San Luis Obispo regularly, however the parking costs
and challenges of opera?ng parking kiosks has discouraged us to the point, we just don’t go into town anymore than
necessary. We love SLO and hope that you will make parking more accessible for us and the future.
Sincerely,
Steve & Bobbi Hilstein
Templeton
