My name is Brian Calbeck, a concerned resident advocating for the preservation of our current parking policy in downtown San Luis Obispo. I fully support Option A of the Parking Rate Study recommendations by Dixon Unlimited, as it maintains affordable short-term parking rates in line with historic norms. Charging for the first hour of parking could deter locals like myself from spontaneous downtown visits for lunch or shopping. This change risks undermining our local economy and the accessibility of our downtown area. Our downtown businesses are already struggling as is evidenced by the many vacancies and I believe our parking policies as a community should incentivise residents to visit those businesses. Please consider the broader implications of altering our parking policy and uphold Option A to support our community's vibrancy and economic well-being. Sincerely, Brian Calbeck 1
