As a senior on a fixed income, I ask you to vote for Plan B as the fairest and most supportive proposals for solving the parking problem downtown. I used to spend a morning or an afternoon walking around downtown, browsing in stores, shopping, would linger over a cup of coffee, go to the Art Museum, meet friends for lunch, would go to the beloved Palm Theater once a week with a friend, and most of all, use the Public Library to checkout books as I am a devoted reader. For an example of what has changed for me with escalating parking rates, now I park on the curb at the library, run inside to pick up and check out holds, with no browsing time at all. Now I don't go to the Palm nor none of the places I used to go regularly. I simply can't afford the parking. I choose not to use the parking garages for two reasons, too complicated, and too unpredictably unsafe for a senior woman without someone working at the entrance/exit to the garage. Plan B among the three choices of solutions offered, seems the smartest as it both lowers the cost and shows that the SLO City Council truly cares about and listens to those of us who reside, work, own businesses, and those who visit, inclusive of all ages and budgets. I am unable to attend the Council meeting or I would be there in person, to ask that you do the right thing for our community, and vote for B. Sincerely, Susan Hoffman 2804 Augusta San Luis Obispo 1
