Hello, in response to an email campaign by downtown business Junk Girls, I want to express my support for option B parking policy. Downtown SLO is in danger of losing its charming community appeal that also supports local business owners and becoming like many other dying downtown areas across the US. SLO will lose tourism dollars, people choosing to buy local, as well as the ability to stay staffed with good employees if parking continues to drive people away from our beautiful downtown. PROPOSED CHANGES? OPTION B: • LOWER RATES: STREET RATES WILL GO FROM $4.00/HR TO $2.75/HR IN CORE AREAS AND $3.00 TO $2.25/HR IN OUTER ZONES. • EXTENDED PARKING TIMES: STREET PARKING LIMITS WILL GO FROM 2 HOURS TO 3 HOURS • CHEAPER PARKING STRUCTURES: RATES CUT FROM $3.00 TO $2.00/HR WITH A DAILY MAXIMUM OF JUST $8.00. • AFFORDABLE PERMITS: STRUCTURE PERMITS WILL GO FROM $85/MONTH TO $45/MONTH Thank you, Shannon Larson SLO homeowner 1
