Dear City Council, My name is Wendi Craig, and I'm a patron of businesses in downtown San Luis Obispo. I am sharing my support for Option B of the Parking Rate Study recommendations presented by Dixon Unlimited. This option offers the most affordable parking rates for downtown SLO. Furthermore, I am in support of this position because I currently avoid going to downtown San Luis Obispo because the parking price is so onerous. As a retired teacher, the current prices mean I really have to think about whether it's worth it to go downtown. I am an avid quilter and love to visit Picking Daisies for their excellent products and service. I invariably get grumpy because of the cost of parking, when I visit there. (The increased number of businesses and decreased amount of parking for The Creamery exacerbates this.) My husband doesn't want to go to downtown SLO for dinner anymore because of the added cost of parking. We used to come to SLO regularly - now it is a rare event. We live in Los Osos. Using something other than a car to come to SLO is not practical. It feels like we are having to pay for the improvements being made for bicycle riders through these increased parking fees. Sincerely, Wendi Craig 1
