Good evening, I am displeased and distraught to learn that the SLO City Council failed to pass a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Palestine. As a member of the SLO community, I want the council to recognize the urgency of this conflict and the need for immediate action. This tragedy directly affects members of our community, and our bodies weigh heavy with the over 35,000 lives lost and 2.3 million civilians displaced and suffering.¹ I believe that SLO plays a vital diplomatic role in California and the US, and we must add our voices to the many calling for righteousness. I am motivated by an unbending will to stand for our common humanity. I stand for freedom, justice, dignity and peace for all people – and a deep desire to stop more bloodshed. Pass a ceasefire resolution. ¹https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/gaza-death-toll-how-many-palestinians-has-israels-campaign- killed-2024-05-14/ -Kolton Kladifko Sent from Gmail Mobile 1
