Dear Council members, Derek, Christine, et al.
On behalf of the Government Policy Committee of the League of Women Voters of San Luis
Obispo County, I am requesting information on whether the City has enacted tax increases since
January 2022. This request comes in the context of the Taxpayer Protection and Government
Accountability Act, a proposition on the upcoming November ballot for the State of California.
Please be as specific as possible, if yes:
1. type of tax (sales? what?)
2. type of fee
3. name of entity enacting the tax or fee
4. what was the tax for?
5. was it passed by a local measure
6. was it the result of a citizens' initiative?
7. approximate date it passed
Clearly, I don't need to hear from all of you, but I would appreciate one of you providing me
with the information.
