Good evening,
I am displeased and distraught to learn that the SLO City Council failed to pass a resolution calling for a
ceasefire in Palestine.
As a member of the SLO community, I want the council to recognize the urgency of this assault and the need
for immediate action. This tragedy directly affects members of our community including a research assistant of
mine and his family. Our bodies weigh heavy with the over 35,000 lives lost and 2.3 million civilians displaced
and suffering.
I believe that SLO plays a vital diplomatic role in California and the US, and we must add our voices to the
many calling for righteousness.
I am motivated by an unbending will to stand for our common humanity. I stand for freedom, justice, dignity and
peace for all people – and a deep desire to stop more bloodshed.
Pass a ceasefire resolution.
