Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Active Transportation Committee, I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out to share my thoughts and suggestions regarding the Higuera Complete Streets Project, which the City of San Luis Obispo is developing under your guidance. Specifically, I'd like to address the Madonna Rd overcrossing, the S. Higuera/Madonna intersection, and the proposed designs for the Meadow Park neighborhood greenway and intersection enhancements. As someone who lives in and frequently uses these corridors, and as a parent with children who rely on these routes for school, I am deeply invested in advocating for improvements to cyclist and pedestrian safety. Here are my considerations and preferences: 1. Regarding the entrance to Madonna Inn/SB Hwy ramp, I believe a more optimal solution would be to extend the raised multi use path from its current termination at this intersection through the S. Higuera/Madonna Rd area. I do not feel that as designed that most children could safely navigate the bike lanes here and would benefit from the safety provided by the two- way bike path. 2. I have reviewed the updated plans for the Meadow Park corridor and wanted to express support for this updated design that removes the traffic circles, includes speed humps and crosswalks at park entrances, and puts a four-way stop at Meadow and Woodbridge. The City of San Luis Obispo has been proactive in its efforts to create safer bicycle and pedestrian paths throughout our community. I commend and appreciate all the ongoing work dedicated to enhancing safety and accessibility within our city limits. Thank you sincerely for considering these requests. Your thoughtful attention to these matters is invaluable in shaping the future of our community. Warm regards, Natalie McElveny Resident of the Meadow Park Corridor 1
