To whom it may concern at the planning commission.
The planning commission, City Council and Mayor, need to consider the optimal, proper land use, in this neighborhood,
compared to the proposed project. I support the legal opinions expressed in the attached petition by Grant Robbins. It
does not appear the application or the Planning Department has exercised its obligation to ensure that the propose
project fits within existing the neighborhood’s theme and zoning to preserve the neighborhood of single-family
1
residences. The proposed location or for that manner, any of the open lots in the vicinity should have single family or
multifamily private residences as the preferred option in this neighborhood as it is within half a mile to the elementary
school, Scheimer Park and pool and the YMCA and recreational baseball fields. All neighborhood development should
be considering families who are raising the next generation. The extreme intensified proposed development does not fit
the overall theme of the neighborhood and is something that the city planning department should be taking a strong
stance to preserve. According to the news article, the proposed project was originally planned for Prado and Higuera
which is close to County social services, Which seems more appropriate for several reasons, Including compatible
development in the commercial zone, reduced city traffic and pollution which is close to the highway, etc.
