1 Ryan Stefanek No KITCHELL, Swinerton, and McMahon arrived onsite around 6:45
and no construction noise was produced before 7:00am. Rincon
and the tribal monitor arrived onsite around 7:00am and Earth
System soils inspector arrived around 8:00am as well as the IOR.
Upon resurvey of the retaining wall placement with the offset of
grid line D work proceeded on drilling and placing 2 soldier
beams. KITCHELL was informed by the special inspector of
specification 316329 Drilled Concrete Piers and the dewatering
and placement of concrete in concrete piers, Swinerton informed
KITCHELL that their interpretation of the specification did not
apply to the retaining wall as it was for caissons. KITCHELL
encouraged and Swinerton agreed that a confirming RFI to the
design team would be appropriate to elevate any concerns.
Rincon and the tribal monitor left site around 2:30 as the
disturbance of native soils was finalized. Concrete arrived around
2:30 onsite but due to equipment issues the first truck of concrete
was turned away due to length of time from leaving the batch
plant. After the equipment issues were resolved concrete and
slurry was placed. 1st delivery inspections were preformed by
both Kitchell and the IOR and concrete samples were taken by
the special inspector. Concrete placement finished around
5:30pm.
No incidents or accidents were reported to KITCHELL today.
