1 Ryan Stefanek No Kitchell, Swinerton, and McMahon arrived around 6:45 and no
construction noise was produced before 7am. Rincon, the Tribal
monitor, and Earth Systems showed up around 7am. Work started
on adding gravel to the palm street entrance to help deal with the
site conditions that affected the concrete delivery yesterday. An
additional entrance was added on Monterey street with rumble
plates to allow access. Drilling continued and 2 piers were drilled
and the beams installed. The 2 piers from yesterday were
discussed with the IOR and special inspector and both indicated
concerns with leaving piers open and other piers with no slurry
installed as drilling continued. This was brought to Swinerton's
attention and they informed Kitchell that all piers drilled today and
the 2 additional piers drilled yesterday would be filled with
concrete all holes would be topped with slurry in anticipation of
the rain. Prior to the pour the depths on the 2 piers that had been
unfilled since yesterday were reconfirmed with a tape measurer.
Concrete deliveries came in from Monterey street and proper
traffic control was used to guide trucks into site.
No accidents or incidents were reported to Kitchell.
