1 Meghan Schmeiser No Walked perimeter; approved signage in-place. Fence screen still
down in areas due to previous weather events. Smith MEP traffic
plan in place on Dana St. Temp fence and screen in-place
between site and apartment parking area. Snow fence in place at
south end of apartment parking lot. See photos for further detail.
2 Tally Richtsmeier No Slurring took place at applicable areas between piles for the
remainder of lagging through beam 39. See daily log photos for
reference.
Tiebacks 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 27, and 28 were stressed.
Tieback 23 was started, but due to a strand break, the work
stopped on 23. Tieback 25 was skipped due to a performance
test. Tieback 26 was not completed because it will be re-post
grouted and restressed.
Other than slurry for the lagging, no other deliveries were noted
and no new equipment on site was noted.
3 Ryan Stefanek No Swinerton, Kitchell, McMahon, and Smith arrived onsite before
7am and no noise producing activities occurred before 7am.
McMahon continued work on lagging and work associated with
RFI 61.2. Slurry backfill was placed above the burrito wrapped
crushed rock completing lagging and backfill. Stressing of the
tiebacks began with the newly requested approach from the EOR.
Some strands of the tieback tendons received damage and
snapped at the location of attachment from the stressing machine.
EOR requested lagging and backfill be removed behind the
lagging to investigate tie back tendons, Swinerton was hesitant to
preform this request as tiebacks are under pressure and could be
a safety hazard to workers. Swinerton stated that their
subcontractor changed the dies on the stressing machine to
address the issue.
Smith began work on Nipomo street with the PG&E vault on the
West side. Irrigation for the mortuary needed to be cut and
capped to facilitate the placement of the vault. Smith confirmed
that they spoke with the mortuary staff and will put the irrigation
back once their work is completed.
No accidents or incidents were reported to Kitchell today.
