Description of work:
Daniel Luna, PG&E, and Catherine Johnson, Rincon, were on site.
The #5 utility vault was installed within the sidewalk, just north of Parking Lot 9. Installation of City communication conduits and PG&E conduit were installed to approximately 50
feet along Monterey Street toward the Mission. The trench was backfilled and compacted.
The PG&E quadrant on the pole at the rear of Parking Lot 9 is clear of AT&T and Charter cables.
At approxiamtely noon, the contractor excavated into cement slurry, approximately 12 feet south of the intersection of Upper Broad and Monterey. The slurry is 11 inches extending to
23 inches below the top of the asphalt surface. Kurt Long, City of SLO, tried to locate the line by tying onto the tracer wire within a nearby 4-inch sanitary sewer cleanout. There
was no signal within the street. JMC will need to tunnel beneath this area.
