Today, Thursday 3/2/2023, Construction crew re-excavated the pit in the intersection of Palm Street and Broad Street, widening it to 8’ x 10’. Conduit lines were installed to attach to the existing utility lines 8 feet below the street surface. The crew also removed a 24 inch high, 12 inch thick, and 20 foot long section of wall in order to reconstruct the sidewalk beside the SLO History Center parking lot. A small layer of red brick was encountered as well as one small red/brown glazed ceramic sherd. These findings were recorded and a GPS point was taken.
