HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-07-2000 List of MeasuresNOVEMBER 7, 2000 GENERAL ELECTTON MEASURES Measure U-2000 Santa Maria Joint Union High School District BOND MEASURE Measure T-2000 City of San Luis Obispo Measure 5-2000 City of San Luis Obispo Measure R-2000 City Of Arroyo Grande Measure Q-2000 City Of Morro Bay Measure P-2000 City OfMorro Bay ADVISORY VOTE ONLY Measure 0-2000 City Of Paso Robles Measure N-2000 San Miguel Sanitary District Measure M-2000 S L O COUNTY To construct one new comprehensive high school to relieve classroom overcrowding throughout the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District, upgrade electrical wiring to accommodate computers and modern technology, replace temporary portables, construct permanent classrooms, repair an<i modernize school classroom faciiities, upgrade 35-year-old plumbing and heating and ventilation systems, acquire land and school facilities, and make the District eligible to receive State matching funds, shall the District issue $30 million of bonds at interest rates below the legal limit? Shall the "Taxpayer's Right to Decide" be enacted, amending the City's Charter to ensure fiscal accountability to the San Luis Obispo citizens by requiring voter approval of any binding arbitration award that imposes a financial burden greater than the increase in the local cost of living or the City's final offer, whichever is greater, limiting binding arbitration to salary only, and enacting other provisions to implement binding arbitration if it is approved by Measure S? Shall the San Luis Obispo City Charter be amended to provide that disputes about wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment that cannot be resolved by negotiations between the City and the Police Officers' Association and the Firefighters' Union bye subject to binding arbitration that is final without City Council or voter approval? Shall an Ordinance amending Section 3-3.303 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code to increase the Transient Occupancy Tax ("hoteVmotel bed tax") rate from six percent (6%) to ten percent (10%) be adopted? Shall an ordinance be enacted so that no amendment to the Morro Bay General Plan Land Use Element or to the Morro Bay Coastal Land Use Plan that would authorize or otherwise sanction the development or replacement of any electrical-generating facility that exports electricity outside the city limits of the City of Morro Bay shall be effective until approved by a majority vote of those voting in an election in the City of Morro Bay? Shall the City Council ofMorro Bay support a single phase project for the replacement and demolition of the existing Morro Bay Power Plant (estimated to be completed by 2007) if the project complies with all regulatory laws, ordinances, regulations and standards? Shall an ordinance that would prohibit the City from providing urban services (defined as water and sewer services) or allowing urban uses outside a boundary that is generally the same as the City sphere of influence boundary (as that sphere of influence boundary existed on January 10, 2000), unless the extension of such urban services or uses is first approved by the voters, be adopted? " Shall the order adopted on January 25 , 2000 by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Luis Obispo ordering the dissolution of the San Miguel Sanitary District be confirmed?" "Shall an ordinance be adopted requiring a vote of the people for changes to the San Luis Obispo County General Plan policies and land use designations regarding "Open Space," "Agriculture," "Residential Rural," and "Rural Lands" in the unincorporated areas of the county?"
