Remarks:
Fire
E-2, T-1, E-3, E-4 responded code 3 to a report of a dumpster fire threatening a structure. On arrival E-2 found a trash
enclosure fully involved and impinging on the structure. E-2 established command, completed a 360 and attacked the fire. E-2
noted an exterior fire and the adjacent apartment was all clear. BC-3 assumed command and assigned T-1 to check the roof
for extension. E-2 extinguished the fire and overhauled the area. E-2 noted paint discoloration to the stucco wall with
discoloration to the eave and light charring. T-1 reported the roof was clear, no extension. E-2 completed a basic
investigation. The occupants of apartment A were working to notify the property management. E-2 completed the
assignment and returned.
Investigation
BC-3 noted freshly stained wood and supplies for staining on the Charlie side of the structure. E-2 noted metal cans the same
size as the stain cans in the trash enclosure. The burnt cans were in the location heaviest char indication the area of origin.
The occupants of apartment A reported someone passing by alerted them, they exited and had no information about
possible causes other than another occupant had been doing projects on the Charlie side of the structure. The occupant of
apartment B arrived. He reported he was staining senior projects on the Charlie side of the structure earlier with classmates
but was unsure if any stain rags had been thrown in the trash cans. E-2 noted the remaining stain rags on the Charlie side w...
