Re: Appeal of ARCH-0448-2022 1925 Santa Barbara – Mixed Use Development
Dear Planning Commissioners,
I am writing in regards the appeal (APPL-0232-2024) of the project located at 1925 Santa
Barbara St. I’ve been a resident of San Luis Obispo for XX years and truly enjoy the historic
feel of many of the neighborhoods. The project as proposed is very di?erent from the
other buildings that are adjacent to this project. This di?erence, I feel, detracts from the
historical character of the neighborhood. Also, the size of the and height of the project
does not seem reasonable based on the minimum setbacks. This would allow views
directly into the homes of residents to the West. This is disturbing and as a parent I would
not want people leering into my house. A pseudo two-story structure (2-story on top of
parking garage) with minimal setbacks is not a reasonable use of this property. Parking is
also a concern, as the city is building bike lanes on-street parking is non-existent and will
more than likely filter into the surrounding neighborhood. .
I respectfully ask that you support the Appeal of the plans for 1925 Santa Barbara St in its
current state and please consider a project that has a reduction in size (height) and
increase the setbacks.
