Dear Commissioners,
I live A few blocks away from this proposed development and I support staff’s recommendation to deny
the appeal. We desperately need more housing in SLO, as evidenced by skyrocketing rental prices and
homelessness. My only complaint about the proposed project is that it doesn’t provide more housing.
The level of discretionary bureaucratic review this small residential project has already undergone is
Kafkaesque. If the city is serious about addressing the housing and homelessness crisis, we must
implement objective, pro-housing design standards and streamline the approval process for small
residential projects like this one.
