Dear Commissioners,
My name is Jessica Goswick, I am a SLO resident and architect writing today in support of staff's
recommendation to deny the appeal and uphold the decision of the Community Development Director
approving the Minor Development Review application ARCH-0448-2022.
Small-scale residential projects like the one proposed at 1925 Santa Barbara are incredibly needed to
address the housing affordability crisis in our city. These projects allow our city to change incrementally
as we need it to, rather than not at all or all at once. Cities are constantly changing, and I believe small
projects like these help our city adapt to these changes.
Additionally, I believe the city should go a step further to create streamlined processes and simple,
flexible design standards to allow as many small residential projects to be built as quickly as possible.
